Hi guys. :)
How are you today? :) Hope you had a good day! :)
Today I want to focus on our future goals with this app. One of this goal is to expand to the Czech Republic. In this post, I will try to explain why we decided for The Czech Republic, what is the current situation there and who we could essentially use as potential partners. So without further delay, let's get into it.
Why we decided for Czech?
There is more than one reason we choose this country in particular. The biggest reason would be, because I'm originally from The Czech Republic. This way I can see what is happening there and this country is really close to my heart. This being said, I was able to identify really bad current awareness connect with any mental problems, which needs to be changed as soon as possible.
What is the current situation?
The current situation is not really good, when it comes to the awareness of this issue. Most of the problems with mental health are seen as taboo or people are too ashamed of talking about them. That being said, here are some numbers and basic facts:
Multiple Sclerosis
around 17 000 people suffers multiple sclerosis
around 68% people with MS is working, but most of them are lying and not admitting their disability to their employers because of fear of losing job
learning problems
around 80 000 kids (5-18 years old)
mental illness
around 8% people suffering depression, age 65 and over 12-15%
numbers are probably much higher, but czech doctors does not diagnose people with depression as it is not seen as a diagnose
Potential Partners
There are a few potential partners we would like to approach and hopes we would like to get a help from like:
Roska - an organisation completely focus on multiple sclerosis
Biogen Idec (Czech Republic) - company focus on the treatment of MS (mainly the drugs etc.)
Government of The Czech Republic - focus on health and well-being
As you can see based on this post, the situation in The Czech Republic is not ideal and it needs to be improved. There is not too many organisations completely prepared to help, which is also the reason we decided to expand there. Not only we want to achieve, that people with these disabilities will get job, we also want to increase the awarness of these diseases there. We also decided that some part of our future profit, could be used to help build new facilities full prepare to help people with any of these disabilities.
As usual, thanks for reading this blog and if you have any questions, opinions on this topic, hit the comment section below and let's start some discussions. :) Talk to you soon, Iva
